I work close by, so I made calls to John's to see if I could schedule an appointment to bring my 4x4 SUV in for a quote for repairs it needed to be ready for Winter. And also the 2014 SUV id bought my wife. But noone even called me back, and it looks like they've been closed for a little while now.

John’s Automotive is the one place in Cedar Rapids that I trust to do repairs on my car. I was recently having issues with a check engine light on my car and they were incredibly diligent in getting to the bottom of the issue. Not only did they not charge me for parts that were not needed, but they are always incredibly honest and transparent and do the job right. They also provided me with a loaner car for the 4+ days that my car was in the shop which was very convenient. I would recommend them to anyone.

I read a few of the other reviews, and I agree with everything in all of the 5-star ones. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else. I especially appreciate that they explain any needed repairs, so know exactly why they are being done. Before doing business with them I would not have believed that auto maintenance could be a pleasant experience.

I've left a review here before that was also 5 stars, but I'm feeling compelled to leave another one because I went to the shop today thinking that I had an appointment to have a tire leak looked at and when I got there I found out that I had read the confirmation email wrong. My appointment was earlier in the week... Despite that they asked if they could hold on to it for a bit and see if they could get it in, I was going to hang out for a bit anyway so agreed. Not only were they able to fit me in without an appointment, but it only took ~45 minutes from the time of arriving to when they called to say the car was done! Just enough time to go next door and have breakfast. Awesome customer service, awesome car service.
